Towards a Provably Secure Authentication Protocol for Fog-Driven IoT-Based Systems

The emergence of fog-based Internet Things (IoT) systems have played a significant role in enhancing the applicability IoT paradigm. In such systems, fog-nodes are proficient enough to retain, process and transmit data coming from devices. Nevertheless, as an extension cloud computing, inheriting security privacy concerns computing is also inevitable systems. To deal with challenges, diverse range solutions reported literature. However, most them several limitations (i.e., vulnerability known attacks high computation overhead) that curtail their practical implementation applicability. Keeping these mind, this paper propose privacy-preserving hash-based authenticated key agreement protocol using XOR concatenation operations for fog-driven Using healthcare case study, novel evaluated by informal formal analysis. order obtain experimental results, cryptographic used at user, fog node server-side implemented on mobile device, Arduino server, respectively. Findings performance evaluation results show proposed has least cost compared related competing protocols.
